Privacy Policy
Last updated: [LAST UPDATED DATE]
This Privacy Policy explains how the Teleprompter web app (“the app”), operated by [LEGAL ENTITY / OWNER], handles information. The app runs entirely in your browser. There is no account, no login, and no server, database, or remote storage operated by us that holds your scripts.
Your scripts and settings stay on your device
Your script text and reading configuration live in two places, both under your control:
- In the URL— the script is encoded in the link’s fragment (the part after
#) and the settings in its hash. The URL fragment is not sent to any server by the browser, which is why sharing a presentation is just sharing a link. - In your browser’s local storage — the script library (IndexedDB), your theme preference, and your consent choice (localStorage). This data never leaves your device and you can clear it at any time from your browser.
We never transmit or store the content of your scripts on our infrastructure.
Usage analytics (Firebase Analytics)
To understand which features are useful and improve the product, the app can use Firebase Analytics (a Google service) to collect aggregated, behavioural usage metrics — for example, that a presentation was started, a script was saved or imported, a link or QR code was shared, or mirroring was toggled.
We never send the content of your scriptsto analytics or anywhere else. Events measure behaviour, not the text you write. Firebase may process technical data (such as a randomized identifier and general device/usage information) as described in Google’s own privacy documentation.
Analytics is optional. It is governed by your consent choice: you can turn it off at any time, and when you do, collection stops from that point on. Turning it back on resumes collection. If the app is served without analytics configured, nothing is collected at all.
Your choices
You control analytics through the consent banner shown on your first visit and through the “Cookies”control available in the footer of these pages (and near the theme toggle). The “Necessary” category covers only the on-device storage the app needs to function and is not tracking. You can also clear the app’s local storage and cookies from your browser settings.
Third parties
The only third-party service the app may contact is Google Firebase, and only for the optional analytics described above. We do not sell your data. We add no other trackers, ad networks, or remote backends.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy as the app evolves; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above. Questions about privacy can be directed to [CONTACT EMAIL].
